This looks exactly like Kansas in the US where many Germans settled. It must have seemed a lot like home to them.

I used a ND Grad and anhanced the midtones in PS. I also soften the higlights. The foreground get a little warmer with PS, and the clouds get a little blue.

 

That?s what I did.

Another very fine photo Matthias with very good light and effective composition. I wonder if the sky is a little too dark compared to the foreground which is beautifully lit with a gold colour. You do not mention what stop ND filter you used, but I think a stop less would have been even better.
