Guest Guest Posted August 30, 2006 I normally love thin dof in pictures, especially in portraiture but I'm not 100% sure about it here. I like the composition but placing him at the edge does seem to indicate that there should be something else to look at and there kind of isnt because its all blurred. Stopping down the aperture a couple of stops might have made it better - I say that because this is one of those times when I dont think including the background would hurt - after all, it looks like pretty countryside so maybe it would be nice to see better. If you were just going for a straight portrait this could have worked better in that format, done as a 'landscape' (no pun intended) it would be nice to see whats out there. Just my 2 cents.
