The invisible focus

Good idea for an image, and it works quite well. The expressions on all of their faces are interesting, especially of course the "big sister" in the middle. I'm assuming this is a crop, so I'm curious to see the whole frame. Technically, this one is much too gray. I've attached an example of the same image with the white point moved down in levels and a curve added in curves.

Well, thank you so much Chris for your alteration and very nice suggestions. I agree about the contrast, no doubt.

Regarding the original: this picture was shot from the hip, and I didn't do much in terms of composition; the original had more space to the left and was rotated a bit. The only manipulations I did was to rotate the image and crop; the grain was due to the high ISO.
