david_natho 0 Posted February 24, 2002 Scott - I like it. it is simple and works.. sometimes the strong color and simple elements can be the strongest statement Link to comment
smhickel 0 Posted February 24, 2002 I like doors (as is evidenced by my doors folder). I like the carry through of the reddish hue here, broken up by the upper right diagnol? Link to comment
chaucer_wells 0 Posted February 24, 2002 You seem to have a talent for using simple lines to create very aesthetically appealing images Link to comment
zachary 0 Posted February 25, 2002 I would like to see what it would look like if the top 10% was cropped just below that 'thing' in the upper right corner. Link to comment
scooterzz 0 Posted February 25, 2002 Removing the "thing" (a bit of broken porch, IIRC) that intrudes from upper right does create a cleaner, simpler image - but I think it adds that little bit of interest that (for me, at least) makes the image. I considered (and printed it both ways) cropping the "thing" and gray area at the bottom, and in the end decided to leave the image as-is. Link to comment
fotografpeterlundberg.se 0 Posted February 25, 2002 Its so perfect and simple that you tend to notice the very small details. Maybe the grey in the bottom could be absolutely paralell with the pictures bottom frame? The "thing" previosly mentioned in the corner - to be or not? Great photo - I think I'm just jelous.... bob stewart jacksonville 0 Posted February 25, 2002 IMO, the photo works better with the lines on the right either cropped, or cloned out. I like the very simple graphic composition. The lines seem to lead out rather than int to the photo and detract a little from the composition. Link to comment
dave_bazzel1 0 Posted February 26, 2002 Hi Scott, The red really grabs the eye doesn't it? I like it. Best wishes. Link to comment
reinier_de_vlaam 0 Posted February 26, 2002 the poles in the right top corner are a bit disruptive Link to comment
shadow catcher 0 Posted February 27, 2002 Need either more or less of the sticks in upper right corner. Distracting as it is. Link to comment
rdwhiteman 0 Posted February 27, 2002 I would have cloned out the distraction in the upper right. Great red and composition otherwise. Link to comment
sharlene_gaenicke 0 Posted September 26, 2002 scott, i really enjoy your work. this is eye catching because of the vivid reds and simplicity. it's not very original, as we see many pics of doors & windows. but, just because its not very original does not mean its not good: it is! the clarity and composition make an impact. personally, i, too, would prefer the top either cropped or cloned to remove the upper right distraction. but, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and art is all about interpretation/opinion (and it is your pic)!
