Hi, Meg, great shot! Great capture of the eyes and the youthful, beautiful expression. Perhaps playing a bit more with the color saturation (since she has great eyes and hair) may make this even more powerful. I also would experiment with a tighter crop, since that would eliminate the somewhat distracting light spot on the top-right. I really like it though, great portrait.

Best of luck, Tom.

She's a babe, and needs just the slightest bit of post-processing. Here's a little cloning, spot saturation adjustments, and sharpening. Hope you like.

It's a nice portrait!

My only criticism is that you might have wanted to try some more fill lighting from the left so that she doesn't seem to have such bags under her eyes, which makes her look older than a teenager. You could probably touch up the bags in photoshop, though.

Meg-

I started with the larger version, duplicated the background layer and used this new layer as my cleanup up layer. Cloned out the dark spots on her neck and chest and the flakes of dry skin on her lips, plus the distracting white spot in the upper right. Use the sponge tool to increase the saturation of her eyes without changing the color from her natural hue. Copied the clone layer, set the blending mode to luminosity and ran the smart sharpening filter. Then I created a new layer, and using the brush tool set to color mode, painted in some color on her lips (I needed to set the foreground color to a dark red first.) Then increased the brush size, lowered the opacity and gave her a little more color on her upper cheeks. Resize, resharpen at the new size, and save. /hth Mark

My main edits were... I just used curves to brighten up the pic... sharpened it, used layers to brighten/saturate/contrast the eyes.
