Dawn at Jokhang

I was out before sunrise in Lhasa, Tibet watching the incence fires being lit at one of their holiest sites. This photo was taken in incredibly thick smoke that cleared for a moment when the sun rose. I've been tempted to photoshop out the lens flare, but I always resist because it was just a play of light on the lens. This is photography after all. What do you think? ps; Have you ever been in incredibly thick smoke from a fire made from yak dung, incense, straw and plastic? I hope not.

Its good, but it could be really uniqually special if you would crop the image so that only the leftmost person is visible.

dont digitize this shot.that would be dissapointing seeing its a very emotional image.if anything go back into the darkroom and crop the right side...bottom right throws me off a bit and it would take the man out of the center plus it might solve your feelings on the lens flair.anymore images from this ritual?if so i would like to see.

the lens flare is part and parcel of this wonderful shot, it seems to me. any cropping also seems uncalled-for. chinese temples, too, are not great places for breathing, either!

I think I like the exposure + lighting in this shot very very much. Would have been great if the fire was position a littler more inside the frame... I think the photo would tell the story if taken that way.

i like that bit of orange on the left. At the same time i think there's too much room on either side. (...but then how would you keep that color there?)
