Instead of the light coming from the rear, try it from the side, perhaps with a little reflected fill. This would enhance the texture of the skin.

Thanks for the comment. I agree with your suggestions. The picture was taking during a larger event and setting up reflectors would have been difficult. Lighting from the side was clearly a possibility, if I had waited a few minutes to have her turn..and moved my position as well. Nonetheless, thanks for the suggestion. Wish more people commented!
