cyrus khamak 0 Posted July 20, 2006 Please view larger. Shot in raw but exposed for the flower with higher contrast. Thanks for your critiques and comments. Regards. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted July 20, 2006 The 'glow' from the flower is beautiful, & I think the dragonfly is attracted by this glow :-) Link to comment

mmmee 0 Posted July 21, 2006 it does look like it is lit from inside. Lovely shot. Its doing well on the TRP too, and deserves it! I was amused to see Sylvester's red eyed frog with his 20D - just ahead of yours by 2. Not nearly as sharp as your red-eyed frog. :)) Is this at your favourite lake from your winter photos? cyrus khamak 0 Posted July 21, 2006 To rate a good photo, one has to know what a good photo is, technically and otherwise. Also a lot of high ratings go with name recognition and favoritism. Therefore lots of good photos don't necessarily go on th TRP, and you already know that. Also, lots of people feel experts in rating all styles of photos. I certainly don't feel authorized to rate some categories of photography and I don't. The two red eye frogs, like you have noticed, are of totally two different class. I would say the same thing if mine was his and his was mine, truthfully. When you put up your photo for rating, you put your photos in the hands of kids, lonely housewives and male couch potatoes as well some well trained eyes. and as you well know, you've got to give sevens to receive sevens and that's the way it goes, most of the time. It's just a game.I usually like to share my photos with just a few friend and give and receive more honest opinions. I really don't have the time to go around all over the place and please people just get the same in return, although I sometime do that as well. Yes, this is the same lake and what a lake this is. At some parts of the lake, there are thousands of water lilies, all over the place. I've got those sunsets at the same lake as well. Thanks for stopping by. Link to comment

j_m_lee_photography 0 Posted July 21, 2006 A Elegant Touch. The light that grow within, even if it's without the dragonfly. Link to comment
dancingdove 0 Posted July 22, 2006 Would have missed the fly on left, if not viewed larger. Tones, contrast & colors, all successful due to professional technique/metering. All the best to you, d.d. Link to comment
rafikrkamel 1 Posted July 22, 2006 Nice shot cyrus i like it, howver imho the dark corner on the left makes the dragon fly a bit hard to see, that is just a thought, hope that helps, regards, RK! Link to comment

cyrus khamak 0 Posted July 22, 2006 Thanks for stopping by. I had the same concern initially. It would seem that way, specially if you don't view this in it's larger format and I hear that a vast majority of members, DON'T. In the end, I thought it was a mood photo and everything didn't have to be fully lit. If you were to view this larger and with a black background, you probably have a better appreciation. I put these up in the Dpreview forum, a gear and technical forum where it has a black background and it was better received. Here is the link , when you click on it, expand your browser's window so that it would cover yur whole screen with the black background and see the difference. Thanks for the comment. Link to comment
