Beach Cemetery (Nominee Award - 4th Annual Black & White Spider Awards)

Mock cemetary in the sand at Santa Monica Beach. I believe each

marker represents a fallen soldier in Iraq. People were watching in

silence. All comments/critiques welcome.

A good image that can be very powerful, but maybe only to those of us who have strong feelings about wars and death and politics and all those little details that the average American doesn't have time for. The black lines that do not have the crosses yet are a powerful statement both because it shows there are more to place, which is it's own statement, but also because the metaphor is that there are more to come in terms of there will apparently be many more killed in this stupidity.

On the technical side, I think it is well framed, properly exposed and has a fine tonality to it.
