billysyk 0 Posted August 16, 2006 The original caught in 1983 from Steve Mc Curry for National Geographic will always be the best because it's full of originality & real emotion. Link to comment
uneboite 0 Posted August 22, 2006 A very nice portrait. I'm only a beginner in portrait photography, so I'm very humble... Well I don't understand why the hand is so dark. I would better understand if it were in brightness levels closer to the face's levels. Best regards Link to comment
dan_cr 0 Posted August 26, 2006 Technically well done - it is a nice image -, but the I agree with the above comment that it holds no comparison to the Steve McCurry shot it emulates. You might try this in color too; color will add a more gritty realistic feel to the image. Cheers! Link to comment
stefan rohner 0 Posted September 8, 2006 i understand the point of making the surrounding dark, but her hand looks horrible. Link to comment

John Peri 1,039 Posted April 15, 2007 A wonderfully touching portrait, powerful in intensity. I studied the compositon and space arounfd the model, it's just perfect. Strange, despite the static nature of the pose, one has an impression of movement and haste, as if the subject is just about to run off. Lovely image, I enjoyed it, thank you. Link to comment
mugglee 0 Posted April 16, 2007 Wow! I was moved by this portrait. I think some critiques above were quite unfair suggesting that you were emulating the NG photo. Now that the hand has been pointed out, I wonder if it would look better lighter. Great work, Kaushik! Link to comment
