Spider on its web

This was one of my first experiences in the macro photography.

But the shoot is beautiful. Maybe the focus could've been better, I dunno. For your first, I think it's really good.

Yeah, I'd say the spider really needs to be in sharp focus. You might want to crop the remnant of a border off the right side of this image. Nice colors.

The subject is interesting, and you got a non-distracting wash of color as the backdrop. The composition is good for publishing (overlayed text), but otherwise I'd probably crop a bit from the left. However. the biggest problem has already been cited: poor focus. Don't let this get to you -- focus and DOF are tough with macro. Try using some support, like a tripod.
