glenroy 0 Posted July 18, 2006 Hi Katie, I am definatly NOT wothout sin, so please don't take this as casting stones...I do like the idea, however, I think I can offer a few ideas or thoughts on this pic.I'm not a big fan of cutting off the dress in such a wide shot, and it seems a shame to loose such a small portion of it.The setting and the steps are a good idea, however the background with the fence and the gate are not so good to look at. Another thing, is the positioning of the girls is such that you can't really see the guys in the arrangement. They are kind of straining to be seen. The exposure seem very good and the general arrangement is nice too. Hopefully you take this as constructive as it is not meant to be negative. Cheers Glen Link to comment
gungajim 75 Posted July 18, 2006 This is one of the few wedding photos I've seen on PN that oozed with some originality. However, I have to agree with the previous poster that the fence and the chopped of gown detract from a good effort. I took the liberty of cropping it differently to minimize the fence problem. Keep on trying as you were very close on this one. Link to comment
gungajim 75 Posted July 18, 2006 An afterthought - Maybe if you had taken it on the steps that are in the upper left corner of the photo, the background would have been less distracting, although the stonework up there doesn't appear to be as interesting. Link to comment
jams 0 Posted July 18, 2006 very original poses! But the tighter crop looks better IMO Link to comment
sachinpatke 0 Posted July 19, 2006 Love the idea, however the thought of a tighter crop crossed my mind just as soon as I saw it only to see somebody beat to it. Link to comment
katieo 0 Posted July 19, 2006 Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions! I knew when I posted it about the dress, but too late to fix it. I guess I am so used to that fence that it just doesn't bother me anymore! This couple was willing to work with me to try some new things and it was lots of fun. Thanks again! Katie Link to comment
