hansendj 0 Posted July 17, 2006 This was taken as we were coming in for a landing in the heli. I think it looks like a model airplane. It would help to have something to give it scale, but I actually cropped all the people and other things out because I thought it looked cluttered. Now I think it looks too simple, but I'm curious what others think. Thanks for looking! Link to comment
gnashings 5 Posted July 18, 2006 You're right! It does! Being a modeler I kind of find it amusing, I like it. Now if any of my models looked this much like a real airplane... But I have to mention to you what I saw at the last airshow I was at: An impressively camera-laden gentleman (either a pro or a very well-to-do amateur!) walking around with... a ladder! It certainly gave him composition options that being ground-bound eliminates. I don't know how I would like to carry a hunk of sun super-heated aluminium around for several hours along with all my gear - but it may worth it. Again, just thinking out loud - the perspective of this photo reminded me of that (obviously, a latter would not get me this high up!). Link to comment
hansendj 0 Posted July 18, 2006 I've also seen people with the same idea as that guy you saw. It probably helps put a new perspective on things as well as get above the crowds to hopefully get a cleaner shot. I was tempted to try and get up on my dad's hanger (about 45-50 ft high) at this airshow, but I never got around to it...never figured out how I would actually get up. hmmm...have the helicopter drop me off?? :-D Link to comment
