gabi_reichert 0 Posted February 18, 2002 wow, i like that. The warm black and white and the surrounding the model is in! Gabi Link to comment
jurek 0 Posted February 24, 2002 I absolutely love the shot - stil, I would like a different expression on the model's face - right now she looks indiferent. Link to comment
anders hald 0 Posted February 27, 2002 I am sorry, but I have to bring up old David Hamilton again. I think this image feels a little dated because of the strong resonance of David Hamilton. I don't know if it's intentional. I like his work (or used to in the 70's) but I think you need to show us why your work is different from his. I can see from the rest of your images that it's only this image that has this 'Hamilton feel'. I think the teengirl theme is handled much stronger in the 'girl on a chair' picture. Link to comment
peter_zentjens 0 Posted February 28, 2002 I absolutely love this photo. It's wel composed, great tonal use, the way the girl is looking, just perfect. Link to comment
dant 0 Posted March 3, 2002 The pose is so elegant that the very mundane set doesn't even contrast with the model's beauty. Strange effect. Link to comment
ricardojmendez 0 Posted March 17, 2002 Don't quite know what to say about this photo, other than I like it. Her placid, complacent expression contrasts quite well with the brushed metal, machinery and wires. Excellent image. Link to comment
jmc1 0 Posted April 12, 2002 I went back and took a quick look at Hamilton, Anders, and I have to say I'm not sure what you mean. The somewhat stark aesthetic I see in this image, and in most of the others by Maris, feels practically the opposite of Hamilton's. Maybe you're thinking of something other than the soft-focus confections Hamilton's name brings to my mind. I've come back to look at Maris's photographs half a dozen times, and I'm always impressed. They never feel like idle dreams, as Hamilton's do. Not to knock Hamilton: I'd be proud to have half his talent. He's just not my taste.UPDATE -- Maris asked about David Hamilton online. Here's his site. Most images are by subscription, but there's enough available free to get the picture, if you know what I mean.david-hamilton.net Link to comment
maris 0 Posted June 3, 2002 Could you be so kind to tell me where I can find David Hamilton photos? Link to comment
tony_samples 0 Posted June 14, 2002 I don't find Maris' work to be like anyone else's. I think all the photos in this folder are very original and extremely well executed. The lighting on these especially makes me envious. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted June 26, 2002 YESSSS ! This is extremely nice and very well done... My only regret: the expression on the face and the pose of her left arm... I'd have prefered a hidden face, and maybe a sleeping position, with closed eyes... It would match the set up and the pose of legs and right arm - which are perfect - a lot better... Regards.
