jodes1 0 Posted July 14, 2006 wow this really evokes a mood for me. throws me right back there. actually reminds me of a Paris in the winter type of shot, too. I like the lighting, the fog, the slick road... I think nit works well Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted July 14, 2006 I really like this shot Kah. Great choice to go with B&W, and the inclusion of the woman holding the umbrella really completes it. Nicely done. Link to comment
stephen_masiello 0 Posted July 14, 2006 I've liked your work for some time now especially the Italy photos. This one is great and really shows your composition skills. Well done again. Link to comment

carsten_ranke 0 Posted July 15, 2006 Stunning B&W - the lowkey tones with the misty, moist light at the end of the street and the reflections make the shot for me. Very atmospheric. Artful work with wide angle perspective and radial composition. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted July 15, 2006 Mood of rain and winter is great Kah, DOF, exposure, shiny reflections, all are contributing to the beauty of the scene. Link to comment
michaelseewald 237 Posted July 15, 2006 Wonderful capture. Great sense of time and place. I love Montalcino, it's maybe my favorite town in Tuscany and I usually use it as my base for the area. Good job. mS Link to comment
kahkityoong 0 Posted July 16, 2006 I thank you all for the numerous ratings and especially critiques. I am particularly pleased as many of you have a great eye for photography or are very accomplished photographers, whose work I have admired. Michael, I can see why you love Montalcino. This was my first time here, I used it as a base for the Val d'Orcia. Link to comment
billysyk 0 Posted September 12, 2006 This is an honest B/W. Reminds of old movies reminds music, reminds places that you wanted to go, reminds many things. Maybe your best work in all your portfolio for me. Thank you for sharing! Well done! Link to comment
kahkityoong 0 Posted September 15, 2006 Thanks Billy. Appreciate your comments, I note that you are an afficionado of desaturated work. This is actually quite often singled out when people look at my prints. Link to comment
podstawek 0 Posted September 8, 2008 Excellent picture. I am only a beginner, but I think I can appreciate the art of this picture; the silhouette and umbrella are as if drawn on the background of the street. The grayscale from blacks to lights is distributed beautifully, and the composition with the woman's reflection is next to perfect. One of my favourite photos I've seen recently. Link to comment
yannik_hay 1 Posted May 18, 2009 Superb in colours, tones, mood and perspective! Cheers! Link to comment
iconoclastica 0 Posted June 24, 2009 Contrary to most of the well saturated landscapes I could look at this picture for a long time. I'd encourage you to continue in this style! Link to comment
