Walter, I had to go back and look at the first version to compare them. Having done that, I would lean towards your first version. To me this has a different feel than your first. Nice IR stuff. - Sean

I like this one; the curve of the land, with the trees to either side, cradles the church in between. Nicely laid out composition, Walter.

Thanks Sean and Kim. Personally, I like this location very much and I feel it has a lot of potential, especially for some color work this Fall and next Spring. While I do like this wider view, I do prefer the PREVIOUS VERSION. It has more of dream-like atmosphere for me. Regards.

There are obvious differences between the versions - in this one, the church is less visible and the overall tones are darker. I like both versions very much.

Thanks again Kim. Yes, it is darker; perhaps a little too dark. The higher tonal value in the first one, due to the "wood effect" of the infrared, is what I would have liked to have been present here. The built-in filter in my Pentax 35mm fisheye lens is about equivalent to an R25. Generally, I like to use an R29 with this film to get more of this effect, though it is never as strong as with the Macophot emulsion. I would need a gel filter for this lens and mount it on the rear element because the front element curves so much. Or, perhaps I could do it in Photoshop. Thanks for the visit! Regards.

Walter, Though the church is less prominent in this one I prefer this composition. A darker mood for sure but a better balance, I think, with the dark trees on either side framing the shot. I guess I just like a shot with a fuller range of tones. Excellent work! Best, LM.

I love the fish eye effect. And the compsition is excellent. with the b/w effect it serve even better.

The lean in the right tree creates quite a wonderland. Interesting how just a gentle bend can tip the viewer into the scene. If you climb the tree on the right, then follow its branch to the left, then down tree on the left you flow down into the middle background. These are helpful cues, but not so obvious as to become boring. Lots of fun to explore this one!

Excellent composition Walter. The fish-eye effect is not too obvious and the medium format detail in the leaves is great.

I like both images, had to go back and look again. I like the tree with the lace leaves in this photo, good dof and IR.

Sondra, Mike, Dave, and Spence...thanks for stopping by. Regarding the Fish-eye lens, I have not found too many subjects where I can use it effectively, in so far as its use would be a distraction. I think as long as I keep the picture elements somewhat "normal" the lens works fairly well. Regards.
