paulfisher 0 Posted February 18, 2002 Beautiful! Great to see a bright sunny photo from Phil. The sky looks real, but is it your new-found skill in Photoshop? Link to comment
philmorris 0 Posted February 18, 2002 Thanks Paul and for the record, you're looking at the genuine article as indeed are all the other ones I've recently posted after using Photoshop. I'm a rawer that raw beginner and have no skill whatsoever in layers (other than text), let alone fiddling around with other pictures' skies AND creating mirrors for reflections. Link to comment
robert reinlund 0 Posted February 19, 2002 Nice! A beautiful place, and a nice picture Link to comment
Brian 848 Posted February 19, 2002 Beautiful. Very restful scene and the composition is spot-on. The exposure choice is good too because I think the colour in the sky is more important than detail in the shadows here. Link to comment
carl smith 0 Posted February 19, 2002 Very peaceful and calm. Nice photograph, I like the reflection. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 19, 2002 Nice picture i feel the green looks to artificial takes away from a peaceful scene Link to comment
leif_rudd 0 Posted February 20, 2002 i agree with all. this is a very nice shot. brian's comment about the exposure is very observant. Link to comment
james_knowles2 0 Posted February 20, 2002 Nice composition and a super postcard shot. It looks a little greener than I remember the Lake District (?) being: Photoshop in action perhaps? Link to comment
ken_imduaikiat2 0 Posted February 20, 2002 Phil, the crystal clear mirror reflection on the water was just great!! Link to comment
james_ryan_carssow 0 Posted February 20, 2002 Gorgeous, rich detail and color. Reflection from the pond is like a mirror. I realize that photos like this (any photo, for that matter) are 99% photographer and only 1% film/equipment, but I am really itching to try some Velvia. I don't believe, even with a "perfect" exposure, that this kind of detail and saturation is possible with the dimestore Kodak film I've been using. Link to comment
thomas_payer 0 Posted February 20, 2002 This is a beautiful shot, but I find the large black border very distracting. It seems to make the overall picture rather dark. Link to comment
crosstone 0 Posted March 11, 2002 Beautiful. Composition right on. The photo makes me want to go and live here. Where is this? Colors are awesome too. Link to comment
yc_ 0 Posted March 16, 2002 So many photographs, and not a stereotypical lake district photo in sight. This photo is more inspiring to me than 'yet another Derwentwater/ Wastwater photograph' :) Link to comment
ruth_christie 0 Posted March 27, 2002 I can't find fault with it. But some of the other's questions make me wonder if I'm dumb or something. For instance how could it be too green? If colour was adjusted to green too much wouldn't it change the water and other things too? Its highly saturated but isn't Velvia 50 like that? And how could the forground be too dark? Because the sky, water, trees etc. are just right it must be recorded as it was. Seems people don't want to see in the photo, the image as it was truly presented. I don't know very much about photography yet but I think this looks perfect to me. I paint and draw - this would make a wonderful subject. Thank you for all your fantastic photos - I too love landscapes and anticipate the day when I can learn to capture better images on film. England is very beautiful seen through your lens.
