Big airplane...little Amanda... I wasn't very creative with her pose,

but I didn't want to have her climbing on the airplane without the

owner there...maybe another time :) Comments welcome! Thanks!

From the style of plane, I would not have guessed it was as large as it is- the figure is great for scale.

The wing at the right side of the frame looks almost like it's folded up to fit in the frame- that might be a way to compose the shot.

I am old enough to remember when the Sandies/Spads were still first-line ships in the Carrier Air Groups. They really ARE big aircraft (especially in their early days) when they were designed as a Navy bomber to replace both the SB2C Helldiver and the TBF/M Avenger. Amanda gives a good impression of scale here.

Thank you Stephen and Andre for taking the time to comment. I actually decided to crop this shot a lot tighter than it was just because you could barely see Amanda. I had the whole plane in the shot and she just disappears! This is an awesome airplane, both scale and finish...its one of the cleanest I've seen.

You had really nice lighting here for a flattering portrait of both A-1 and Amanda. I feel like maybe you've cropped this one just a little too close on the left - I would allow just a little space between the tip of the prop hub and the left border, although I don't mind that you've cropped two of the prop blades out. I would make the same comment on the Amanda and P-51 pic, where you snipped off the tip of the spinner.

August, thanks for the input. I was actually pretty apprehensive about cropping this photo. I like having the whole airplane in the frame in this case. I uploaded the uncropped version... please let me know what you think.

I think if your girlfriend is willing not only to hang out with you whilst you snap pictures of airplanes, but also to pose in them, you'd better marry her.
