richard_lowery 0 Posted February 17, 2002 ----they were having difficulty maintaining their footing on the slippery branches. Taken through house window with 70-300mm zoom . What color is ice?? Link to comment
rogan 0 Posted February 17, 2002 This is not a picture I want to really think about. Instinctively, I like it - that red against a stark monchrome background. Thereafter ... Link to comment
michelle a. 0 Posted February 17, 2002 Love the bright red against an essentially white background. Nice image! Link to comment
windjammer 0 Posted February 18, 2002 Nice, great contrast, and nice work on the exposure. Don't take it amiss, but it looks cover-of-a-Christmas-card-ish. Link to comment
philip_coggan 0 Posted February 20, 2002 Jackpot! Yes, it does lok like a Christmas card, but so what? It's a very NICE Christmas card! Link to comment
kevin_spatt 0 Posted February 23, 2002 Really nice. Maybe a catch-lite in the eye. But very few subjects would work with a background like this, and this is one of 'em. Link to comment
marielou_dhumez 1 Posted February 24, 2002 Never be frozen with such a so beautiful red color ! I really like this photo ! Link to comment
richard_lowery 0 Posted February 24, 2002 ---hmmmm ---thanks for the comments ---wonder if I could add 'catchlight' in photoshop??? Link to comment
joe fino 0 Posted March 12, 2002 I like the way you captured the red against the background. But I think I would like to see the bird fill the frame more. Have you considered cropping? Link to comment
richard_lowery 0 Posted March 13, 2002 ---recropping? Not particularily JOe. My observation is that "one who pleases everyone, pleases no one" Take it or leave it!!;-)) Link to comment
joe fino 0 Posted March 15, 2002 Merely a suggestion Richard. I wasn't indicating that you should do that. I was just wondering if you had, and if you did, what was the result? :-) Link to comment
richard_lowery 0 Posted March 16, 2002 ---any cropping past the semi-circular branches that frame the bird would make the icy 'feel' go away. It was not cropped ---might see what it would look like cropped tight. But monochromatic ice color/red color balance is about right in the original , I think!! Link to comment
