susan stone 0 Posted July 9, 2006 A good friend of mine likes to set up an "old time cowboy camp" when she brands her cattle. The horses are tied to the bedroll wagon and the Buckskin horse in standing in a rope corral that will be used to corral the other saddle horses. The tent is the cook tent. Link to comment

timkeller 0 Posted February 7, 2008 Si, Susan, yo creo lo mismo que Julio...es un foto magnifico! This picture is so cool! I envy you out there. And I love that you two cowboys are cowgals. Say, have you read Gretel Ehrlich's "The Solace of Open Spaces". Of course you have. Hey, I posted another horse for you tonight, "By a Nose"...it cracks me up. Not sure why it posted so big and long, but that makes it all the more fun so I like it. Meantime, your "Branding Camp" will keep me smiling each time I look at it. Thanks. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted February 7, 2008 I'm glad to see you here Tim, I'd "forgotten" about this image, it's a prime example of why I don't post more of my daily workin' shots, they just don't get the views, comments and or ratings of some of my more "artistic" stuff. "Solace...." is one of my very favorite books, I often give it to folks as a gift and I'm always pressed to find my copy. Another good read or two...."Leaning into the Wind" women write from the heart of the West and "Where Rivers Change Direction" by Mark Spragg. Gracias Amigo.... Link to comment
timkeller 0 Posted February 7, 2008 Yes, we have Leaning into the Wind and several others of Linda Hasselstrom's books. Where Rivers Change Directions is (with Solace and All the Pretty Horses) one of my very favorite books of all time. I hope you'll post more "work" photos, ratings and views be damned: these images have a great value irrespective of what's "popular" at PN. Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted February 8, 2008 Thanks Tim for the encouraging comments, I do have more "in the wings", they just need some editing. Link to comment
