Sydney Harbour Twilight

kathryn_brittain

This is my first attempt at night photography and the first time I have ever shot using slide film in my camera. As stupid as I was at the time, I only took one shot, but as it turns out, I was overwhelmed with the result. Your negative and Positive comments are encouraged (I figure I'll learn by my mistakes) :)

I usually do not rate this high but this a winner in my humble opinion. Please contact me as I would like to speak to you about purchasing a print of this picture.

Very nice lighting. I also like the smooth water and the clouds. I'm not sure that black is the best matte choice, though. Maybe something lighter...?

This is my first attempt at night photography. It is also the first roll

of slide film I have ever put in my camera. I am hoping fellow

members of photo.net can all give me some guidance and

comments (favourable or not). However if you do choose to rate

this photo please justify this by leaving a comment so I know

what I need to improve. Thanks.

My first attempts at night photography, while amusing and satisfying, certainly did not measure up to this. Terrific colors and timing.

This is a successful scenic I like a lot. Light changes so fast at dusk that you need to do a shot a minute sometimes to get this result out of a batch and you nailed it right on. You seem to like this type border, but frankly I am not so keen on the white stripe. Why, because it to my view slices off of the Harbour Bridge, where my eye wants to follow on to the span to its support, the supporting piers. So the bridge does sort of compete with the Opera house, making whole to me less than ideal in composition. (As you guess, this would be one for the X pan pano you are thinking about.)Regardless,I congratulate you on a fine scenic anyone of us night crawlers would be pleased with, Kathryn.Aloha,GS
