dusty2004 0 Posted July 7, 2006 When children are young they have such skinny bodies. I accentuated this by tilting the paper under the enlarger. Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted July 7, 2006 well done...at first I thought it was a wideangle effect (and cropped)...then I saw your explanation...geometrically it matches the wood barrier verticals and produces a superb graphical effect....B&W reinforce that perception and create a nostalgic mood...congrat. apergament 0 Posted April 11, 2007 I really like this photo, even excepting the very creative idea of the elongation. I'm drawn into the photo and the mood wonderfully. I would suggest darkening the wave on the lower left, as it looks too far out of the tone of most of the rest of the photo. Otherwise, great photo. Cheers. Alex. Link to comment
pascalagneray 0 Posted April 28, 2007 This is one of your best picture. It has a great soul and I don't think I would ever get tired of it. The shortest one is the one who sees the highest...that tells me something about life and plenty of other things too. I was intending to pick one of your church picture as the best but in the end, I was looking at the children pictures, especially this one and the one where the 2 kids look at a river and one is pointing away. That's a fantastic shot also. Thank you for sharing it with us at PN. I read some of the critic above, I believe that no one would have known what you did (tilting the paper) unless you told us so but I might be wrong, there are some experts here (not me). I think it creates that wavy effects as if the wood fence tilts and I think it probably helps but it's hard to tell without seeing the original next to it. Regardless, the value of this shot is in the picture itself, its subject and how it feels. Analysis is a dangerous destructive thing sometimes so I will just leave it like it is and tell you again that it is my favorite picture of all your pictures. It makes me happy to look at it and see friends avoiding the massive wave attack together. I know they are happy and much alive inside. We all had times like that. This picture is a reminder.
