seven 0 Posted July 3, 2006 I think most of us can relate to this, PT - and I like the fact that there's a subtle play on something not even there (the right hand - as in : the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing - said to indicate an intense state of imbroglio.)The composition is very tidy and I feel the elements are arranged with near maximum visual efficiency (I might ask for a little more space at top and to the right.) I would think about a slight burn on the lower thumb & index finger, just because it is a bit brighter than anything else in the frame - though the slight contrast provided might be a reason for leaving it unaltered. I think you made a good choice, PT, but leave some for others please - this is a Group thing. Link to comment
rkynast 1 Posted July 4, 2006 Great theme fit, PT; I think Seven said it all for me. I agree the lighting needs a tiny bit of work but I like the way you have arranged the photo. Great imagination. Link to comment
htc 0 Posted July 4, 2006 Not too much to say PT, excellent addition; maybe as Seven said a tad more space and a little less noise. cheers, calin Link to comment
shotokan 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Nice image PT, not much to say on the tech or comp side. In terms of theme fit, however, I'm just not sure. The theme is presented as NO! This image to me is more like "I shouldn't", or as the title says " Hard to choose" I'm struggling with the theme myself, and have NO idea what I'll come up with. Well done image. Cheers, Mark Link to comment
onyo__ 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Theme fit and composition are OK for me. I'd like to see a lot more sharness. Nothing really looks completely in focus to me. If the carrots and jelly beans were much more sharp it would make them pop right out of the photo. Onyo Link to comment
dominiquedodge 0 Posted July 7, 2006 The only thing I could add is that I'd prefer identical bowls (white?) - I think the choice would be more straightforward that way. Easy choice BTY! (even for righthanders). Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted July 8, 2006 I like the color and significance play here,The No comes from the question itself, so for me it fits the theme, I would have darkened a bit the hand, otherwise I like it PT. Link to comment
megansteen 0 Posted July 9, 2006 I think that this is an OK theme fit. I agree with the others about lighting and having the jellybeans and carrots in focus better. I think that the different colored bowls are okay, although I would like to see a plainer background, because right now it is too busy and distracts from the great colors of the food. The brown of the wood allows the colors of the left bowl, the hand and the carrots to blend in too well and I think a plain color would make those colors POP! Megan Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted July 10, 2006 Here is a remake, taking into account the above comments. Pnina, in this version I've pushed the color symbolism a bit forward. Thanks for the advices. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted July 11, 2006 PT, I think the second one is the better from the two, and I like it. Thanks Link to comment
seven 0 Posted July 12, 2006 Good use of negative space, PT, less distracting than the woodgrain. I prefer the even breathing space. Link to comment
megansteen 0 Posted July 12, 2006 I really like the edited version PT. The colors really *POP*. Link to comment
nirakara 0 Posted July 12, 2006 My thoughts were very much were in line with others initially, PT. It was fitting the theme earlier too, now I want to congratulate you on your aesthetically much improvised version! Yes, 'POP' is what I thought too, that official PT term ;-) btw, Welcome officially to PT Megan, glad I am already familiar with your work>. Link to comment
robidooo 0 Posted July 14, 2006 The second version is easily the best. I was thinking of something like this for the theme "Danger". But it is fitting very well here. And I guess that because of the way you are showing it, it would also fit in the conceptual folder. Link to comment
