kahkityoong 0 Posted July 3, 2006 I have always wanted to nail a shot of a pristine white beach with turquoise waters. I got my chance at Mt William NP. It's one of the least visited national parks in Tasmania, but contains long stretches of wonderful beaches like this. Specs : Manfrotto tripod, polarizer, 2 stop ND grad, f20, shutter 1 second, ISO 50. Link to comment
tom leoni 0 Posted July 3, 2006 Nicely done--it really stands out, especially for a classic subject like this. It would be awesome if you gave us an idea of your camera settings. Link to comment

carsten_ranke 0 Posted July 3, 2006 Excellent seascape, for several reasons: I love especially the mirror of motion blurred wave and cloudscape forms, the wide angle perspective, with a slightly barreled horizon that adds an extra feeling for the vast space here. Nice Golden section horizon, exposition is spot-on. Well composed, no nitpicks from me. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted July 3, 2006 Kah, I know why you don't sleep at night, you are waiting for the sky to get the form of water ;-)) well, and they do... beautiful parallel of vast sky and earth, doted with the rocks, and in between the blue/turquoise color range. beauti-full. Link to comment

robvine 0 Posted July 4, 2006 Another excellent shot Kah, I think the motion of the wave is a great focal point for the image and such soft tones are not usually seen in seascapes. Link to comment
hobbesken 0 Posted July 4, 2006 The soft almost smoke-like water draws us gently into this picturesque photo of beautiful tasmania, with the expense of pristine ocean stretching far beyond the horizon. Link to comment
awaraagard 0 Posted July 4, 2006 magnificent expanse of this splendid photo canvas. the vastness so very well depicted in fine color & composition. regards! Link to comment
phil morgan 0 Posted July 4, 2006 Kah, One of the definitive seascapes i've seen so far. Composition, exposure, shutter speed, and lighting all spot on. Combine all this with a great eye and a great camera and the result is remarkable. Very well done. Regards Phil. Link to comment
kahkityoong 0 Posted July 4, 2006 Thank you for all the nice comments everyone. It was worthwhile taking the detour to visit this national park after all as it yielded some of the best shots of the weekend, after some poor planned shoots on the east coast : poor weather and light, lack of inspiration. A bit different from my usual seascapes, no sunset or sunrise colours; it boiled down to picking the right wave for the sky. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted July 5, 2006 I would definitely visit Tasmania one day. Have heard how beautiful this place is. You have shared with us this beautiful turquoise water, superb blue sky & smooth silky white beach. The glimpse is not enough. Makes me want to go myself :-) Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted July 5, 2006 A beautiful image with an excellent perspective.. . I like the way both the silky soft waves and clouds draw you into the pristine turquoise blue ocean. . . Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 5, 2006 Well done on this one. Motion blur creates a soft, dreamy state. Nice timing with the waves that resulted in the mirror-like halves. Lighting balance and composition are superb. No complaints. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted July 5, 2006 It grows on me. On a second look, I would say this is one of the best seascapes i have seen for a while Link to comment
