skersell33 0 Posted July 2, 2006 OK... let me know what you think. I'm sure I'll hear it about too much fill flash, but I just loved this picture and I played around with it in PS and if I brought down the brightness or adjusted curves, the fill flash was even more apparent and I lost a lot of detail of the beads of water on his face. What would you do differently? Link to comment

rlt 0 Posted July 3, 2006 A fine picture. I really didn't notice the lighting that much. Try making a second layer of the picture in Photoshop. Use the laso and outline the face in the copy layer. Adjust the picture on the face only that way. and resave pic. Link to comment
skersell33 0 Posted July 3, 2006 Thanks for the compliments and PS suggestions. I've never tried to minipulate an image like that in PS. You did a good job at bringing down the hot spots on his face without losing the pool and water detail in the back. I'll have to try that myself just to play around with it a little. I also have another revised version where I added ever-so-slightly some sharpening. Makes a big difference. Ahhh... the luxuries of shooting digital. Thanks again! Link to comment
laurent_jaussi 0 Posted July 3, 2006 a very nice one...I prefer your second version..I like when the face is bright and the water droplets are well visible.... Link to comment
madison01 0 Posted July 4, 2006 Beautiful little creature. You have asked me for advice, yet when i search on Top Photos/children category - there you are :0) I also prefer the second shot. It's a gem. Keep it up. Link to comment
skersell33 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Thank you both for your positive comments. There have been a few critics out there (not on this website) that have gotten me questioning my work/style, etc. But now I'm starting to get over it! And yes, I'll just keep working on trying to improve. Paul - thanks for letting me know this one showed up on the Top Photos for Children category. I never would have thought/known. :-) Link to comment
