fotografir 0 Posted July 2, 2006 Use it or lose it? This photo was taken using just candle light trying to mystify the subject. More tranquil or subdue was what I was trying to accomplish. Suggestions welcome. Link to comment
momente 0 Posted July 2, 2006 well, you did create a vague, mystical (biblical?) feeling to it, however that line that runs across it vertically is distracting. also his 'robe' looks a lot like a towel, which kind of spoils everything and brings a chuckle to my lips. All this, of course, sums a personal opinion coming from a very unexperienced & non-technical "photographer" :) Link to comment
anthonyd 0 Posted July 2, 2006 I agree that the towell has to go and that line is distracting. This shot is also not in focus. This might have more of the feel your looking for if the candle was off to one side so that the face is partly hidden by shadow. You might also try putting another candle in front of this candle and low enough to be out of the frame. Blow it out just before you take the shot. That should make the smoke look like it's comming from the candle flame in the scene. Smoke always looks mysterious! Cheers! Link to comment
