dbier 0 Posted June 28, 2006 I like the way one panel is leaning away from the facade, and the cloud reflections Link to comment
mspanakis 0 Posted June 28, 2006 It looks as though the building is falling apart. Quite unexpectedly so, for a brand new construction as the rest of the image suggests. Very well seen. Unfortunately, I would have missed the originality of this image had I not clicked on it. Maybe the cloud reflections steal the attention and mislead the eye from the main subject. Not that the reflections are unimportant (they are actually necessary to tell about the mint condition of the building), but I think, they occupy too much of the space. I have tryied a different cropping, with your permission, but I am still not satisfied. Link to comment
mspanakis 0 Posted June 28, 2006 ... well, one can read the image in exactly the opposit way: at first, a shiny brand new building of the South Bank; but, caution! it needs maintenance... or the sky will fall on our head Link to comment
hobbesken 0 Posted June 28, 2006 A well-captured image at an opportune time, David. I kinda agree with Manolis that the alternative crop results in a stronger picture removing some of the blue sky. I also agree that the reflection of the clouds do play an important part in the picture, in addition to revealing the mint state of the building, by offering some organic shapes/element to contrast with the very linear man-made lines. However, if you were going for a straight abstract then that would not matter =) Link to comment
