sophiafield 0 Posted June 27, 2006 Hi Cherlyn,I think you've done a wonderful job with the lighting, the shadowing and the composition works really nicely here and the stoneware was definitely a great idea for adding interesting texture instead of using a pretty polished dish or something. :)Great work!Sophia Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted June 27, 2006 Cherlyn, I'm glad to see you posting again, good idea and I like the delicate colored vegetables in the massive ellement. I do think as other were pointing that it need s softer light, the shadow is very dense. Also because the tool is so heavy I think it needs more " breathing space" .As you are busy play with it again in the house " studio" as it is a very good idea. davidorea 1 Posted June 30, 2006 What a lovely photograph, dear Cherlyn! The composition is unique. The quality of lighting and the shadows work fine. Sharpness and colors are great. Excellent work! Best regards Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted July 2, 2006 Beautiful composition and colours. The shadow is good too though I wonder whether the way the shadow is slightly cropped tends to draw attention to that area. Great use of isolated small areas of colour. Link to comment
marco_ruggiero 0 Posted July 3, 2006 I like it just as it is, Cherlyn. Beautiful and simple. I like the shadows that you have captured and the stark contrast of the Pestel and Mortar with the starkness of the white surface and the colors of the spices. Ecellent. Link to comment
thinhnguyen 0 Posted July 3, 2006 Great composition and idea ! thank you for stopping by my porfolio. Best regards. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Very nice still, my only wish is that the handle would have a bit more space, it touches the upper border - kind of distracting. Anyway, original shot, well done Link to comment

randy_bray 0 Posted July 8, 2006 when I have light that is too harsh, something that I've used is a white Gauzy material like muslin as a light diffuser. You can put it in an embrodery frame and hold it between the sunlight and the subjet being photographed and it works very nicely. Also like another person said, a piece of white Cardboard makes for a nice light reflector. Link to comment
