renny 0 Posted June 23, 2006 This is a lovely reflection with restful pleasing colors. The glimmer of stars in the sky and depth of the lake make it for me. Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted June 24, 2006 This has an intriguing luminosity. For me, the left hand side doesn't really support the composition. The majority of trees, and the stumps put all the visual weight on the right. I've uploaded a suggestion, if you object I'll remove it. It's pretty severe, but this way you've got a definite foreground, background, and even some twinkling stars evenly distributed in a tight composition. Normally, placing the horzion line in the middle of the frame leads to a static and ineffective photograph. This, however, is a reflection and the two parts balance in the frame. Link to comment
kellyphillips 0 Posted June 24, 2006 I like it Aaron. Did you alter the colors at all? The crop you used is similar to the one that I used when I printed this picture out into a 16x20. Thanks for your time. Link to comment
AaronFalkenberg 0 Posted June 24, 2006 I did some local contrast enhancement and output sharpening. You might find this interesting: http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=234899 Link to comment

andrew_viny 0 Posted January 12, 2008 Wow! That is really cool. Can you describe the technique used? Link to comment
kellyphillips 0 Posted January 12, 2008 Hi Andrew. This was taken at a park after it was closed one night. The gates were open because of a baseball game in a different part of the park. This shot would not work without the lights on. The lights from the field lit the trees in a weird way. I was lucky enough to find this old stump and branch in the water. As far as the photoshop, I can't reamember what I did to make the trees orange. I was playing around with selective color and turned the green to orange somehow. The original is in my portfolio as well, I just added this one because I liked my "mistake" in pshop. It's got a tilt I need to fix.......just noticed. Link to comment
