Guest Guest Posted June 22, 2006 first impressions aside, I think this is one of those that grows on you. Link to comment
nirakara 0 Posted June 22, 2006 This is kind of interesting. SInce it is hard to show movement with fan blades, I suppose PT opted for this approach. It doesn't look like an oscillating fan's side to side movement, since it is towards top and bottom, or may be it is. was it by camera movement? I would've liked a little more contrast. I am sorry if this comment doesn't help you much PT, sometimes I just ramble around with my thoughts. It is hard to come up with something very constructive on everything. I go with something is better than nothing with regard to comments sometimes. -chitra Link to comment
seven 0 Posted June 22, 2006 I think Knicki is right about it growing on you (or did she mean "blowing?")I might like this slightly more abstract, and think a touch of direct light could be just the thing to break the repetition.(PT, your sensor needs a clean.) Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted June 23, 2006 Thanks PT's. I tried about 10 or more frames shooting it, I don't know if a repetition will ever be the same. Seven, you were right, my sensor is already cleaned. PT Link to comment
seven 0 Posted June 23, 2006 Just so long as you didn't clean your censor which someone was trying to do in one of the forums the other day..... Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted June 24, 2006 Nice play of words sensor/censor, Seven censoring the sensor ;-)) Link to comment
seven 0 Posted June 24, 2006 Well, the poor guy was trying to clean a Canon sensor - so he clicked the menu in the button, mirror locked up....he waited...and waited. After about an hour he posted an Urgent Message in the forum to say he was worried the battery power might run out before the camera had finished cleaning the "censor" for him : wanted to know how long the camera would take ..... dominiquedodge 0 Posted June 25, 2006 Adding the motion blur has made this more interesting than a straight forward shot of the same fan. Although it's the white frame that's most visibly blurred (the part of the fan that doesnt usually move!) the effect is good. I'd be tempted to either crop square or darken the corners (add more blue to them) so that the effect carries on right to the corners of the frame. Could be a wheel or some dangerous machine too. Attached square crop. Link to comment
pt2 0 Posted June 25, 2006 Good suggestion Dominique. I like in general your way of offering an alternative. Link to comment
