the coloring?

That's sick! Either you got really close or you have a really steady hand and a good lens. I think the color, DOF, and focus are all spot on. Great shot!

Thanks Daniel. I was extremely close. There were probably a hundred of these guys buzzing around my head, but luckily they were more interested in the flowers. The colors aren't true. I turned up the yellow on the bee and adjusted the hue on the rest of it until the red/pink tones came out.

I usually try to keep the colors true, but I have to say that these colors look pretty realistic to me, not knowing what they actually looked like. In any case, I find them very pleasing... eye catching...
