Bath time

waldeck_schutzer

After reading the comments, I decided to rescan the original negative for better tonal range. I also mixed in some clouds I took from my Round Valley photos and then patiently edited out a few twigs from the foreground. Finally I chose to sepia tone it for a more dramatic effect. All editing done with The GIMP.

Everything in this photo seems quite parallel. The path of the geese, the wall in the back, the buildings, and the path of the person walking. Good timing and composition....

I love this picture. Conveys a sense of motion. Almost feels like a multiple exposure with one goose in various stages. Very interesting..

Great one Waldeck! I just want to say that it would be even better were not for the twigs in the foreground and the bland sky in the background. Also, some curves boosting wouldn't go amiss. Anyway, heads and shoulders over anything I've done, so I'd better stop criticizing!

I lived next to a public golf course that was "infested" with Canadian geese and I would see them walk in lines like this. They would always give me a chuckle (like now) but I never thought to take a picture. Good idea! Technically I think it could benefit from a little boost in brightness and contrast to bring out the detail. Thanks for the chuckle.

Addendum: Looks much brighter now. Very nice!

Here is what I got after a good deal of GIMP yoga in an attempt to fix

the bland sky in the background and to get rid of the twigs in the

foreground. All comments are welcome.

I like this image alot.

Like the others have noted it could benefit from a slight compression of the levels or bump the contrast to bring out the detail.

This is one of the fresher approaches I've seen to the panorama type shots.

If your not opposed to it on philisophical image/truth grounds I would go ahead and touch out the human walking on the foot path in the distance. He's a bit distracting and detracts from the overall picture - let the limelight be on the geese! I may get flamed for proposing that.. but what the heck. ;-)

Nice work.
