Hello Dale. Just a few pointers. You have good separation from the background by means of depth of field and colour contrast. Unfortunately the bright light has caused shadows and burn out on some of the petals. The leave in front of the flower is distracting too. My suggestion is to photograph the flowers in subdued light.

There are some excellent portfolios on this site study them. Perfect practise and persist patiently. Cheers.
