This is a rework of a previous post but from a different exposure. I was unhappy with the

highlights so chose a darker exposure. Specifications : Gitzo tripod, f16, shutter 1/13

second, ISO 100, polarizer & ND grad 2 stop filter.

This darker exposure works well. Cheers, J

Kah, it is a beauty, composition is spot on with great space and the semi circle that take us in till the reflected end.color and texture are impressive

What a great texture that frosty foreground makes. You've used it well in this nicely dimensional composition. Such clear air -- amazing.

Thank you to everyone for their comments. This is one of my favourite landscapes I took in Italy. It was a truly memorable morning on the Piano Grande, for one thing it was absolutely freezing, took me ages to get the filters onto the camera with my numb fingers. The sunrise was beautiful but this was the shot of the morning due to the frost and composition making the most of it.
