halcyonlll 0 Posted June 14, 2006 Models: Deli and Nico Okay. So this is the longest photoshoot i ever did. We started at 12 pm and finished at 12 am. It was hard, it was fun, it was anger and it was happiness. Many thanks to my best-friends and models Nico and Deli who were like real professionals and without them none of this could have been possible. Photoshoot was inspired by the folowing songs and movies: Christina Aguilera - Fighter, Madonna - Sorry, Kill Bill, American Psycho and Scream . I really like how these shots came out. Enjoy! lpaszkiewicz 0 Posted June 14, 2006 What's "fashion" about this? You can't see their faces (eye contact & emotion very important) & the clothes? I can barely tell what the girl in black is wearing. Needs some better lighting. The woman's head above blends with the background. But I'll give you points for originality. Just keep working with it...even if the subject matter isn't my personal fav. ;o) Link to comment
halcyonlll 0 Posted June 15, 2006 Thanks so much for the comment and let me explain my point of view. This is a fashion photo, but if i wanted people to focus on the models (see their faces, etc) i would have made a "glamour" photo. there is a difference! fashion is all about clothes and items, not so much about the models, where glamour is all about the model, how it looks, etc. to sum that up, fashion is all about the bra, and glamour is all about the breasts. And dont be fooled by this pic ... fashion isnt art, it's advertising. And in one fashion photo you might be selling an Jean Paul Gaultier dress, in one a pair of Luis Vuitton shoes and in one just a pair of earrings or something else. Here ... i am selling the axe, so the clothes dont matter so much. Cheers! Link to comment
jgerecht 0 Posted July 2, 2006 I'm sorry but I don't like this on several levels, the most obvious is the violence implied in this shot. Violence against women (even if it's by women) is wrong. There's too much violence in the world to encourage it in any way. This photo doesn't tell me that violence is bad or non-productive in any way. But, if as you say, this is an advertising shot, then it's even worse. Most people think that if you buy an axe, you're going to use it for cutting wood. In this case you're supposedly telling us that axes are for killing people. Not a good image to sell. If I was making axes and my ad agency came up with killing people as a campaign idea, I'd fire them immediately. Plus, there's one more really bad aspect to this image. If it's about selling axes, then you should be able to see the axe better. It's hard to see against the black background, only the handle stands out. Having said all of that, you've done a good job with the models, who really do seem to be working hard. Link to comment
