I like the contrast you have in the paving, Mandar - the highlights glow with a type of sheen. Good toning and placement of pigeon. Given this, the mood is highly palpable, but I'm not sure I experience it as gloom - possibly because I equate this type of lighting with that one experiences after a shower i.e. when the skies are clearing (I think it's the "sheen" - part of me might be interpreting that as being caused by water.)

Seven, thanks for your comments. It was a cloudy day and I was struck by this lonely pigeon walking around -- maybe the gloomy part was projection of my emotions. I liked the tone after playing around a bit as it gave it a surreal feel. I do see what you meant by the time after showers though.
