frank uhlig 0 Posted February 27, 2002 Am I going blind? I can make out nothing in this pic but a mass of unfocused green and possibly a figure hanging in some form, plus a fuzzy aqua/orange shape (arms) further off. Forgive me if I am turning blind now, but a 1/1 sounds high to me. Link to comment
aduy 0 Posted March 1, 2002 Thank God you gave me 1/1 not 0/0, little bit unfocused cause my head was at the bottom and i'm not feel the earthground. Next time it will be better than that. Thank's... Link to comment
ken_imduaikiat2 0 Posted March 10, 2002 Hmm.. On the other hand, I think the image is the best in the folder. Dispite of the extreme shooting condition (don't think most people would dare take their gears out for a shot like this), composition is simple and clean... a line points down from top-left to bottom right. Posting of the subject also complements the strong line, the shape of the land scape, and the direction of the rain. His posting added movement to the shot (wouldn't be the same if he placed both legs against the clif). And colors, if the man in the background was wearing the same navy-blue jacket, then we would see only the orange helmet and the flavors would have been ruined. The placement of the man below added depth to the shot, his posting and the colors he's wearing complement those of the subject. I was thinking if you crop alittle from the bottom (up to the almost-horizontal branch in the foreground so the subject is placed on the lower third and the line point below the bottom left corner) would have give a much better balance to the composition. Poor image quality is OK, given the fact that the photographer was hanging 20ft from the ground against a slippery cliff in a crapy weater / if you only want a picture-perfect photograph, stay in the studio and stick to the tripot. FYI: I'm wandering if this image would get the same response if the photographer's was on the top-10 and that it has already been rated above 8's. Keep it up. Link to comment
