Karl Schuler 48 Posted June 10, 2006 Dear Ghulam, we were together on this trip, South of Peshawar. I would be proud to have shot this photo. Being there I was not fully aware how the dust in the brick factory reduced all colours into one brown-grey colour tone. But I know that this is real, not photshop. You have put this photo in the category of Still Life/Studio. This gives a wrong understanding. In a studio photo you put artificial dust, you controle the light, you may shoot wunderful pictures, but they are somehow fake. This is real, harsh reality, shocking conditions, exacerbated by the presence of child labours. This is why the owner was not fully happy to have us there. It was interesting for me to observe your photo shooting style, how quick you went, how close (he could even not run away if he wanted). I hope this was not the last time we were together on a photo hunt. Regards. Karl Link to comment
dan_cr 0 Posted August 27, 2006 Powerful portrait of a hard working laborer. So much brick dust the image is almost monochrome...very cool look - although the conditions obviously are not. Great work! Cheers! Link to comment
mrstubbs 0 Posted November 24, 2006 Any part of this image would make a good frame. Great work Ghulam Yasin. Though I think he may have felt he was working harder than you. Link to comment
