don't think good macro shots get enough credit).

Very sharp and very well executed but what do you think about vertical composition according to the subject?

Yeah, vertical would have worked well with the grass stem. This is nearly full frame though so there isn't room to crop without taking alot of the abdomen off. Maybe next time.

WOW, superb!!!

I know how challenging it is to get this. A slight breeze will blow that blade of grass in ways that no one would notice who isn't trying to get it to be perfectly still. Too much movement (or too fast) and he takes off. Slightly off on the aperture setting and you have either a very limited dof or a very cluttered background. And you found him on a nice, green, plant. Mine seem to want to light on ugly brown stems most often. Congratulations. And I like the diagonal and good focust too.
