I noticed also that both these shots are tilted slightly- watch for that when you take them- simple to correct then.

 

Here, if the emphasis is to be on the decorative wall, I'd say include more of the wall at the top and cut off some of the stairs at the bottom- perhaps wait until the people get up to the top of the stairs. The people are helpful for scale.

 

If the emphasis is on the people themselves, zoom or crop in on them closer.
