stp 6 Posted June 4, 2006 Wonderful color and composition....the background fog is great, as is the light on the shrub. I might be inclined to crop about half or 2/3 of the water to remove the rocks, thereby removing some distracting roughness in an area that doesn't contribute to the image....wonder what other think. stuart.reid 0 Posted June 4, 2006 Thanks for the comments. It's actually ice in the foreground, not rocks. And yes, it was very cold. It gets down to -30/-40 in the winter here. I specifically purchased the motor winder for my F3 because it provided more battery power then the built in coin-cell for when it was really cold. Have not tried my D100 or D200 in such harsh conditions as of yet - suspect they won't perform as well. I'll play with the cropping, however I liked the notion that there was water in front of, and behind the main subject. Stuart Link to comment

cyrus khamak 0 Posted June 4, 2006 Beautiful capture of light. i actually like it with the frozen foreground if you stamp out some of the distractions there. regards. Link to comment
forrest_andrew 0 Posted June 5, 2006 lovely warm, subtle colors to an otherwise frigid scene. winter is a clean, crisp and beautiful time of year. this photo is testament to that. Link to comment

seven 0 Posted June 23, 2006 Excellent soft light and pastel tone. Generally I might suggest a crop to this comp, but the impression of light is so strong (and warming - good tactile contrast) I feel it pulls & holds the viewer sufficiently for the fg to remain intact. Nice shot, Stuart. Link to comment
