B&W or color! With some photos, the question is more critical. What are you trying to show? If you want us to see how beautiful and colorful a person's surroundings are, than color has to be your choice. If you want to minimize confusing detail and focus on the beautiful light, tones, a mood, texture, I personally find color distracting.

Now on to the specifics of your photo here: It's a nice shot. I like the composition very much. The only criticism, I'd like to see more detail in the old man's face. A more readable expression would make this a stronger photo.
