shotokan 0 Posted May 31, 2006 Ver nice idea for theme fit, PT. Although I still have some blotchy patches, even when viewing larger, they do not detract much from the image. On the composition side, I also like the image a lot, although I wonder how it would look with the bottom blue - green of the image parallel to the bottom of the frame. It may also have had the effect of having the top blue light intersect with the top left corner, which I would find pleasing. I tried to rotate the current image to show, but too much is lost in the rotation. Do share your technique with us later, PT, as it seems very interesting. The bottom colours blue, green, yellow, orange and red seem fluid as if they may come from a single source, whereas the upper blue light seems to come from a different direction, causing a coarser shift in shape. Well done PT. Cheers, Mark Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted May 31, 2006 As a long-time fan of stellar spectroscopy, this image really appeals to me. It is a wonderful reminder that light (visible to human eyes) is spread over a very small range of the electromagnetic spectrum. Lovely colours and an interesting arrangement of them. Saved the best till last, PT? ;-) Link to comment
dominiquedodge 0 Posted June 1, 2006 I agree, a very fitting way to conclude the folder. Kudos on producing an aesthetic image so close to the essence of the theme. Link to comment

pt2 0 Posted June 3, 2006 Thanks all for the comment. This is one of those shots that you don't plan for. They just jump at you! It was pretty late at night and I was playing with my cat. Our game? Me throwing Cd's at her! Well, not directly on her, but around her, as she likes to run after things. And blank Cd's were the only thing I had next to me. Anyways, at one point one CD stopped directly under the light and I saw, from my angle, this rainbow. Took the gears out and grabbed a couple of shots. I didn't take too much shot to get the one I liked, so here it is! It's really "essence of light" that came to my mind when I saw this one. Link to comment
giuseppe_miriello1 0 Posted September 5, 2006 this is a beautiful effect and, probably, the most close to the proposed subject. I think it laks a bit of dark tones and, other than that, the image feels a little "void" on the left... apart these small glitches it is a beautiful representation of light in its true nature.
