Eat-&-Run!

I know the focus is wrong, but I just could not resist the

definition in the crashing waves, so I decided to ignore the bird.

This is so cool. Really this picture is great! I would love to know what happened next.

It is an illusion. The crashing waves were a good 6 or 8 feet away from the piper. It just looks closer because I had the camera down low and was using a 70-300 zoom set to 300. Also, the waves are only maybe 2 feet high, so they fizzled out quick. Neat effect, huh?

Fantastic shot! I like how dramatic the wave is with fury and how the sandpiper is seemingly indifferent to it! great....

...it's almost as if the little piper isn't the least bit concerned about getting pounded... =)
