You asked: Does the crop work? Should the sky be cropped? Too Dark? Yes, yes and the sky is perfect . But then so is everything else. Great picture, thanks for sharing.

Good work! I think that the Gradual ND filter would let you show more details in the shadows while keeping the colours of the sky saturated.

Although not the most original picture, it's really lovely to look at because of the colours and the composition. I don't know if a Graduated ND filter would have worked, because the contrast between sky and water isn't all that great. Maybe a 1 stop filter...

This picture is gorgeous. I love how the zig-zag of the stream is mirrored in the zig-zag of the clouds.

Not to mention the colors...

I love what's happening at the sea level, but fine cropping is necessary in such shots. I believe Juergen Kollmorgen is the perfect example for such compositions. Here, my suggestion would be to crop the sky off completely - it is the weaker part of this image. And now our attention will really go in the terrific details available at the bottom... I could be wrong of course, but I'm as strongly convinced about this as I can possibly be. Why not try to upload a separate version ?... Regards.

In every case to see (/or if I do) photo like this I must ask myself if it's too much or not, after all I love look at it agin. Very nice. Great 9/5

As much as I respect the opinion of Marc Gouguenheim, I couldn't live without the sky in the shot. I tried such crops on this image in PS and it becomes much too heavy and dark without the relief of the sky. It's a fine, fine image.
