ian_porteous2 0 Posted February 5, 2002 Does the crop work? Should the sky be cropped? Too Dark? Link to comment
dave_kingma 0 Posted February 5, 2002 I really like the texture and color of the water - almost looks like a painting. Your crop choice is also good. Link to comment
billmagee 0 Posted February 5, 2002 You asked: Does the crop work? Should the sky be cropped? Too Dark? Yes, yes and the sky is perfect . But then so is everything else. Great picture, thanks for sharing. Link to comment
jakub 0 Posted February 5, 2002 Good work! I think that the Gradual ND filter would let you show more details in the shadows while keeping the colours of the sky saturated. Link to comment
arthur sevestre 0 Posted February 6, 2002 Although not the most original picture, it's really lovely to look at because of the colours and the composition. I don't know if a Graduated ND filter would have worked, because the contrast between sky and water isn't all that great. Maybe a 1 stop filter... Link to comment
eddie_obryan 0 Posted February 7, 2002 This picture is gorgeous. I love how the zig-zag of the stream is mirrored in the zig-zag of the clouds. Not to mention the colors... Link to comment
mg 0 Posted February 7, 2002 I love what's happening at the sea level, but fine cropping is necessary in such shots. I believe Juergen Kollmorgen is the perfect example for such compositions. Here, my suggestion would be to crop the sky off completely - it is the weaker part of this image. And now our attention will really go in the terrific details available at the bottom... I could be wrong of course, but I'm as strongly convinced about this as I can possibly be. Why not try to upload a separate version ?... Regards. Link to comment
filip.kurek 0 Posted March 4, 2002 In every case to see (/or if I do) photo like this I must ask myself if it's too much or not, after all I love look at it agin. Very nice. Great 9/5 Link to comment
fred_j._lord 0 Posted August 5, 2002 As much as I respect the opinion of Marc Gouguenheim, I couldn't live without the sky in the shot. I tried such crops on this image in PS and it becomes much too heavy and dark without the relief of the sky. It's a fine, fine image. Link to comment
