Working Dog

This was an old negative taken with a cheap camera and lens. I ran

it through a film scanner and tweaked it a little by cropping some

of the bottom, removed some dust and finally toned.

I was running down slowly over the images this evening- the sexy nudes, the expensive underwear, the ubiquitous cat (and tiger).

I then I saw this- and it hit a chord with me.

I just love it.

Not by a long shot the best technical effort -but..

If a shepherd 700 yrs ago had a camera - this would be his photo.(apart from the steel gate!!!)

This is what our ancestors toiled at (especially here in Ireland).

They were Farmers and Minders (in the best possible sense) of animals and their environment.

And from the photo I especialy like to see the best of all friends on the wall.

And a stone wall at that.

I will give this high marks 'cos ...

I think it's just great.

Sorry I wrote my critique -before I read the part about this being a restored old pic.

But no need to change too much any of my comments
