You have captured the essence of this young boy perfectly.

I trust his parents have this photo as pride of place in their home.

Congratulations. Regards Carl

This is one of my all-time favorites. We just printed it out this week for the first time and it looks even better and more crisp on paper. I am glad that you all have enjoyed it as much as I have. Thanks for taking the time to comment and support me. Take care - Emily

Hard to resist the face. And the cap is just perfect and balances the round face. Not your typical baby shot.Expressive and tickling to any parent. Someday this little person could be Mayor of New York who knows, but now.... Now he or she expresses our common humanity. There is love and tenderness in your portfolio. We could use a lot more of this all around the world of photography as a counterpoint and cement to our "species". In short Bravo,Emily. Aloha nui loa, Gerry

Thanks Gerry for looking through my images and commenting on this one. I'll have to admit that it is a better portrait than Mr. G:) Photographing children all day helps me see that there is hope and love in the world. There smiles and expressions melt me and make me a better person. I love to share their beauty with PN even though many here don't appreciate the art of children's photography.

Oscar Hammerstein was one great lyricist. Words to Cockeyed Optimist come to mind when I see the open faces of children. Tired of looking at deadpan airbrushed ads of Britney and the whole lot... Decided on impulse, the best motive in the world:-)Emily, to do some grab shots of neighbor's girl. I am going to go back and do some more with her with lights and a tripod and all my junk. It is an anodyne to the boredom I was beginning to get to with image making. (I am 70 and still looking for the teenager inside when I first picked up a camera). Thanks for the opportunity to comment on your work,Emily. I like it.
