Thanks for your comments. The curb had just been repainted, the sun was bright, and the bricks and wall were vibrant. If you are ever near Pecos, it is well-worth stopping in. The old downtown still stands but is almost entirely deserted. It is very interesting, with a mix of deep nostalgia and emptiness.
