Portrait of actor/comedian Dan Aykroyd

I had a wonderful opportunity to photograph Actor/Comedian Dan

Aykroyd, in town for a celebrity weekend in the Banff region. This

man is unbelievably gracious and patient. At this luncheon he even

toured the Kitchen to thank the Chefs! He asked genuinely interested

questions and could work a camera like nobody's business. As his

Family waited outside in the car, the pressure was mounting. He was

as patient as could be. I worked feverishly against the clock and

managed a number of fine frames. In less than 5 minutes...it was

over. In this particular shot, he hammed it up for the VERY LAST

FRAME. Makes you glad you can manage 38 shots on a roll of 36 with a

manual advance camera.

Great expression. Only change I suggest is warming it up a bit; his face seems a little pale in some places, a bit ruddy in others.

This is some joker's portrait. Your subject is making fun of himself by adopting this grand pose. Somehow it reminds me of the Dutch masters (in the dark areas, almost chiaroscuro), which contrasts with his well lighted face. Your shot is great because the subject struck that pose. I'd like to see the rest of the roll; I'm sure he had fun and was a great sitter. Kudos for a neat portrait.
