samfoto 0 Posted May 25, 2006 Inundate, an adjective often attributed to the degree to which we are subjected to the photographic image of the 20th century, humongous may be a buzzword for the digital image of the 21st century, for these photos now cover entire building sides. Like grafitti, these images provide some remarkable moments as life happen in their midst, not to mention the 'here today, gone tomorrow' connection. Perhaps a downside is that they are 'so in your face' confrontational. If you wish not to see an exhibitionナsimply don't go, if TV offendsナturn it off or don't buy the magazine or publication, but when you turn from a building sized photo-image you are likely to be confronted by another. These Madison Avenue works can't be turned off or put in the garbage as the building sized insistance for our attention is much beyond human proportion. Why not take this monoply away from Madison Ave.? and for six weeks transform a city skyline with the 'fine art' image?ナthese cerbral mianderings are killing meナI'm going to bed! Link to comment
loldhoff 0 Posted August 24, 2006 Terrific Sam! I really enjoy reading your writings as well. I wish I could write or say things as elegantly. I was honoured you made such a kind comment on my "looking for shade" image. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
